Traditional Travel Advisor
I am a travel advisor with Fora; let me use the resources I have access to with Fora to craft you your perfect travel plan. I can work with any budget to give you the holiday you've been hoping for. Fora is an established travel agency with deep connections so I can provide you the personalized itinerary you want and deserve.
I can help with the planning if you like to be involved or I can do all of the planning if you want one less thing to think about. Either way, the trip is catered to you and your travel desires. No idea is too small or large; maybe you only need a hotel for a night before or after a cruise or maybe you want to spend 10 days driving around New Zealand. I am ready to put my full effort and expertise into any idea you have!
| My work with Fora can give you access to perks that are usually reserved for upper-tier loyalty members: | |
|---|---|
| Perks when you book through me as a Fora advisor | $0 |
| Early check in or late checkout for convenience around your personal travel schedule | $0 |
| Room upgrade for just a little bit more value and hospitality | $0 |
| A welcome amenity so you have a personal touch to your room | $0 |
| Perhaps even a complementary train ticket in Europe to help you on your journey | $0 |
There is no cost to having me look into hotels or tours for you. You don't pay extra for my services; the hotels and tours pay me a commission for my services. There is no downside to looking into travel with me - only potential upside. I can also look into flights, however, Fora does not specialize in flights directly so I may only be able to recommend flight options (and provide my personal strategy for booking cash flights).
Points and Miles Travel Advisor
I can help you utilize your points and miles to achieve your travel desires. Points and miles can let you travel for pennies on the dollar. I'm happy to strategize with you if cash or points are better for your specific use. And I'm happy to do the searching to find award availability.
I can help you book flights or hotel rooms that only cost you taxes and fees. You may be accumulating points on credit cards and not know what to do with those points. Do you have a pile of Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, Citi Thank You Points, or Capital One Miles that keep building every statement? Or maybe you have been loyal to one hotel chain for years, and now have a stash of points that you want to do something special with. I can help you find the best way to utilize those points for your travel desires.
I can do award flight searches for you to give you the best options for your travel. Getting an award business class seat is possible! I can do the search for you and provide you with the exact details of how to book that seat for yourself. All you have to do is provide me with your credit card point or loyalty account balances so I know what your point or mile limit is and who you can spend them with. I do an extensive search for flight options that saves you a lot of time, energy, and thought. Using points and miles for flights can get you anywhere from $0.01 to $0.11+ of value per point or mile (that looks like spending 70,000 points for a business class flight that costs $7,919; but I've even seen $0.20 of value before).
I can also do award hotel searches for you. Maybe you have a destination and a flight (or a train or a cruise or a car) and you need the hotel portion taken care of. I can pull together your options based on your credit card point or loyalty account balances and make sure you know the value you are getting for your points and miles. For instance, I generally have a rule for my personal point spend that it has to be $0.02 per point of value (I would spend 12,500 points for a room that costs $250); there are exceptions but that is the value I generally hope to get out of one point.
Every point and mile redemption is unique for the person taking the trip. The reasons are varied so any way you want to redeem your credit card and loyalty account points and miles is the correct way. I will only provide a point of reference with the award flights or hotels I find; the redemption is up to you.
| Pricing: | |
|---|---|
| Award flight search one way for 1 person | $50 |
| Award flight search one way for 3 or more people | $75 |
| Flight booking instructions once a flight has been chosen | $200 |
| Award hotel search for 1 destination with up to 4 hotel brands or credit card portals | $30 |
| Hotel booking instructions once a hotel has been chosen | $50 |
| Point utilization discussion over email | $40 |
All amounts are nonrefundable. I will only accept a flight/hotel search if I think there is a reasonable chance at finding a flight/hotel within your parameters. I will begin the search within 1 day of receiving the search fee, and I will send you flights or hotels options within 2 days of beginning the search. I will only send flights or hotels that are currently available (unless you are doing research planning, in which case I will tell you when the flight should be available to book). It is your responsibility to receive the booking instructions in a timely manner so the flight/hotel is still available for you. You are ultimately competing with every other point and mile user for this award space so sometimes timing is very tight (and I will let you know if that may be the case).
Points and Miles Strategy Advisor
If you want to start traveling with points and miles, I can be your strategy advisor. I can teach you the ins and outs of getting started and or advise you on continuing your journey. Points and miles can give you experiences that may otherwise be out of your price range. I can take you from a beginner to an expert by sharing the tips and strategies that work to take your travel further.
Points and miles can open up opportunities to make your money go farther or get travel experiences you may never want to pay the cash price for. They can make a weekend getaway (effectively) free. They can enhance your cash trip with a stay on points at an incredible resort. Points and miles can make your child's request to see a capybara in the wild an easier “yes”. Or they can take a cash pain point away from necessary travel. There is no wrong way to use them once you have them.
Most points and miles are accumulated through credit cards; cards give you the biggest boosts through signup bonuses or every day spend (some multipliers are 5X points on every dollar you spend for a specific category). Signing up for new credit cards generally requires at least good/very good credit to begin with and when cards are opened responsibly, your score does not fluctuate in any meaningful way.
My credit score after opening several recent cards
There are countless cards out there that all offer slightly different reasons for existing. I can help you figure out the right ones for you and your goals. You only open one credit card at a time and space out the new accounts before a second is opened. There is never a bad time to start and if you decide points and miles aren't for you, all it takes is closing those card accounts that you opened that don't serve you anymore (if you want to achieve the sign-up bonus, you complete that spend requirement and then don't need to spend on them again before you close at the year mark; you want to keep a card open for at least a year to keep yourself in good company with the issuing bank).
Some credit cards offer perks or a coupon book that can be used every month, quarter, semi-annual, or year period. Most of these types of cards come with an annual fee; however, it can be very easy to get at least the annual fee (if not more) back from the various perks or coupons (as they're frequently called). This can look like booking a hotel through the credit card portal to get $300 back as statement credit or using a specific credit card for payment that will reimburse TSA Precheck/Global Entry as a statement credit or using a specific card to pay for an order at Five Guys every month to get reimbursed as statement credit or using a specific card to pay for tickets from StubHub for reimbursement as a statement credit (among a wide array of other perks that the various cards offer). So not only do you get value from the points and miles from a signup bonus and purchases, but you can get value from the card itself. I can help you find the path that will work best for your lifestyle and travel needs.
